There are a wide range of skin diseases and many can be difficult to diagnose and treat. Making an accurate diagnosis is vital in these cases so a range of investigations are usually required before appropriate treatment can be started. Appropriate cases for referral include:

Chronic Pruritus-
Full investigation including intradermal allergy testing
Pyoderma-
Full investigation including intradermal allergy testing
Suspected hormonal diseases-
Biopsies and dynamic blood tests can be performed on hospitalised patients
Chronic otitis-
Full investigation including intradermal allergy testing. Medical and surgical management
Anal furunculosis-
Medical and surgical management
Parasitic skin diseases-
Skin scrapings, biopsies and anti-parasitic treatments and management strategies
Neoplastic skin diseases-
Diagnosis, medical and surgical management


A case of a GSD with nasal pyoderma

Each case is given an initial hour consultation to take a history, perform an examination and formulate a diagnostic and treatment plan. Reports are sent to referring vets within 1 week of seeing case and further communication is possible over the phone or by email.
